Dear Parent/Carers,
The after effects of the pandemic will still be with us for a while but looking at the children this term, I can see how hard the children, staff and you are working to ensure that together we work at making sure not only are their academic gaps closed but that we also ensure we have 'happy' children. The children have made amazing progress in their learning and continue to smile and behave impeccably in their class.
A big thank you to all those who attended parents evening and used our new online system. I am sure you are all aware of the importance of attending parents evening to learn about how your child is progressing academically and also to have that 1:1 conversation with their teacher about how you can help at home. If you have not been able to attend you can still make another appointment with your child's teacher by emailing or phoning the office.
As we move into the summer term just a few reminders:
- Socks must worn for safety
- Enclosed sandles for safety
Summer uniform can be worn (black/grey shorts, green checked dresses/skirts) - if you need any uniform please ask as we have plenty of second hand items you can have.
Sun cream will need to be applied by you to your child before they come into school as we cannot do it for them.
Please ensure any hats you provide for your child to wear are named and that your child has a water bottle for the summer as well.
No jewellery for health and safety apart from stud earrings - please can you ensure that any necklaces or bracelets are removed before coming back to school next term.
Bat Class will have PE on Tuesdays for term 5 only. All other year groups, PE days will remain the same.
Finally, as we learn to live with COVID it is still vital that you keep your child at home if they have a temperature. Government guidelines state that once the temperature has gone they may return to school if they are well enough. As always, any changes to policy we will let you know, but please be patient with us as often we don't always have the answers or are not given the information straight away. If in doubt ring the office, and we will do our best to advise you.
Have a restful and fun Easter, enjoy everything this year and make up for what we couldn't do last Easter!
